Trusting in the fundamental pillars of life will guide us on the path to enlightenment. Discover in the following article how to reconnect with forgiveness in your life.
"Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." Acts 13:38-39
In our daily lives and spiritual journey, we encounter crossroads and challenges that test our faith and resilience. It is during these times that reinforcing the pillars of our Christian life becomes crucial. Among these pillars, love and forgiveness stand as cornerstones of our spiritual growth.
Love, in all its forms, is the essential response to the adversities and complex situations we face. Love for the Lord, reflected in His example of kindness and compassion, inspires us to become better individuals and to act according to His teachings.
The love of our Heavenly Father, bestowed upon us, encourages us to go further, overcome obstacles, and build a more fulfilling life. His message of love resonates more clearly and powerfully when we convey it through actions and words filled with compassion and hope.
"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?' Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.'" Matthew 18:21-22
Love, therefore, is the response to all the blessings God bestows upon us. His message is clearer and more enduring when viewed through the lens of love. It is more readily heard and effectively communicated when we act and speak with the love and hope necessary for growth and learning from the Holy Spirit.
The humility with which we navigate and make decisions in our daily lives helps us reconnect with those around us, offering new perspectives on how to live life differently.
Opening our minds and hearts in a receptive manner aids in understanding those who offend us, even when they may act or speak out of turn.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Choosing to walk in the Lord's light guides us to act and understand that those around us need humility to acknowledge their mistakes, and we, too, need humility to set aside offenses and focus on our personal growth journey.
In attempting to forgive those who wrong us, we may rediscover a version of ourselves that we had forgotten.
True forgiveness is not an easy task and requires a significant long-term commitment from us.
It begins with an aspect that often defies logic but, as the Lord frequently demonstrates, is practiced in a unique way.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
Finally, and most importantly, to strengthen the pillars of acceptance, empathy, and forgiveness towards others, gratitude is essential.
Being thankful and seeking help in situations that seem challenging in our lives are actually opportunities to be tested and learn from the Holy Spirit.
This requires an act of humility necessary to move forward and overcome the barriers of prejudice that cause so much harm. Our Heavenly Father helps us grow internally, expanding love and a heart full of faith and hope.
Recognizing the importance of gratitude allows us to believe more each day in the universal healing of the Holy Spirit.
