"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
In our daily walk, we long to find a state of fulfillment and harmony that transcends the changing circumstances of life. However, we know well that human existence is a tapestry woven with intertwined threads of joy and pain. Therefore, regardless of the situations we face, it is essential to cultivate a serene spirit that can perceive the divine presence even in the darkest moments.
When we maintain serenity in turbulent times, we do not do so for mere appearance or social convenience. We do it because we recognize that we are sustained by a Love that transcends all understanding. Let us always remember our true identity as beloved children and the purpose that moves us. In the Father, we find our strength, and the countless blessings we receive each morning are sufficient testimony to move forward with a peaceful heart, receiving each new day as a sacred gift.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18
We often fall into the tendency of evaluating our lives through the relentless lens of excessive self-criticism, self-deprecation, and the feeling of not being enough.
Nurturing this perception is not only unfair to ourselves but represents a distorted interpretation of our limitations and vulnerabilities. What would happen if we transformed our perspective? What if we allowed ourselves to renew the image we have built of ourselves?
We need to understand that this awareness of our imperfections is a gift of Wisdom granted by God to keep our Spirit Humble and to rectify what is not working correctly in our lives. We must not allow this awareness to drag us into total despair and plunge us into desolation.
Therefore, we could begin by contemplating the bright aspects of our existence, allowing this contemplation to open paths to recognize all the Blessings that the Creator abundantly pours upon us at every moment.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
It is impossible to maintain a constant state of happiness throughout our life journey. Illnesses, the farewell of loved ones, economic difficulties are passages we must traverse, experiencing pain, sustained only by our Faith.
However, there is a sanctuary where we can experience permanent peace: our refuge in the Lord. This peace comes into our lives precisely because it is a gift that does not depend on earthly circumstances. We will overcome painful and incomprehensible moments with the strength granted by our Heavenly Father. Our love for Him knows no boundaries, and there, in His heart, there is no room for permanent anguish.
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16
Let us create an inventory of gestures that generate peace within us and simultaneously fill the hearts of our loved ones with serenity. Let us seek spaces to accompany our elders. Listen to their stories attentively, cultivate patience and understanding. Attend to the voice of the Almighty that resonates in those who have traveled much of the path. Encourage encounters with the little ones in the family. Pay attention to the pure message that the Lord conveys through their innocence. If we go through difficult times, we can marvel at how pain transforms into love when we dedicate ourselves to serving others.
"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
Let us honor each moment granted to us, extend a hand to those facing difficulties, express unconditional love to our neighbors, cultivate sincerity and mercy with our brothers and sisters. Live in gratitude for each dawn the Lord gives us, set aside negative thoughts, and always maintain inner peace, for it is the living reflection of God's work manifesting in our lives.
From this disposition, we will lighten our burdens, cultivate the necessary wisdom, and find the strength to overcome the obstacles that arise on our path. This week, commit to dedicating ten minutes each morning to silent prayer, seeking that peace that transcends all understanding, and then share a message of hope with someone going through difficult times. Remember that by bringing peace to others, we also find it for ourselves.
