Postponing Our Spiritual Care

At times our course may be uncertain and with an undesired destination. Learn how to return to the path of light in the following article.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

What do you give the most importance to? Your mental health, your emotionality and your connection to your spirituality are the key to a life filled with blessings. The Lord will always be close to our path and will be hanging on our decisions.

Sometimes we tend to put off tasks, talks, obligations. It feels good at the time, but later this tendency can be self-destructive.

Procrastination can send emotions inside that are hidden there, obstacles or blockages that are better resolved today and not suffer tomorrow. Always remember that our Heavenly Father is available for us to unite our hearts with His goodness and eternal wisdom.

If we really long to feel in a unique way and evolve from our inner self to our outer self, we must stop procrastinating.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

It's time to pay attention to your spiritual needs. If you have been putting off this personal focus, you must take advantage of the opportunities God gives us every day to improve as people.

You will not regret it, start today, you will realize how much time you have wasted putting aside this priority in your life.

The advantage of starting today will help you perceive a sensational inner peace. A breath of fresh air that will renew your hope, your faith and love for the Holy Spirit.

Do not flinch or retaliate for having strayed from our Heavenly Father's path of enlightenment. Just remember that the Lord will always forgive us and help us to channel our thoughts and decisions to a place of peace and love.

"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8

Have you ever procrastinated, put off for another day something you could have easily done on the spot? This isn't always laziness or poor time management: sometimes it's procrastination. Do you know what procrastination is?

Etymologically, "procrastination" derives from the Latin verb procrastināre, to put off until tomorrow. However, it is much more than willful procrastination. Procrastination also derives from the Greek word akrasia, which is "to do something against our better judgment."

That assessment of things is paramount to understanding why procrastinating makes us feel bad. When we procrastinate, we are not only aware that we are avoiding the task at hand, but also that doing so is a bad idea. But notice: we do it anyway.

You're procrastinating and walking away from tasks and strong emotions. Maybe you're in a moment of overflow. Maybe you're going through very changeable moods that certain issues in our current life bring up. So, procrastination can be a problem of emotion regulation, for which we are not prepared. We must try to level and somehow regulate our current feelings if we feel this way. Prayer, connecting with people around us who bring us back to the love of Faith and the Holy Spirit can be the kick-start to your deep healing.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2

Procrastinating tasks, actions, putting off telling someone something, or a talk you want to avoid (with your boss or partner for example), will bring you more problems than solutions.

Do the following: take a pencil and paper. Make a list of the things you want to do (or have to do) and what you have been putting off for no apparent reason.

Put there all those things that you have a certain need to accomplish, whether it's tidying the closet, finishing that report, talking to your siblings about a certain family issue, sitting down with your spouse to plan the next vacation, or making a new connection with God.

There is a natural priority to the Holy Spirit, as it will give you a differential view and perspective to move forward with the rest of the to-dos.

Is there a hidden emotion that is preventing you from joining the wave of love and peace that the Heavenly Father brings us?

Maybe it is fear, or rejection, sadness, nostalgia. Do not deny your emotions, let them flow and observe them. Start today to reorganize your priorities and your goals.

It will be enough to make you feel much better and to move forward with your path of enlightenment from the Holy Spirit.
