If we can accept this gesture of love in our lives, we can be closer and closer to enlightenment. Learn how to incorporate this teaching in the following article.
"You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Matthew 5:43-44
Throughout our lives we will find ourselves experiencing times when we are really going to have to make a decision. Whether we have to accept and ask for forgiveness or receive that gesture of divine love that the Lord invites us to learn.
The acceptance of that person as he/she is, with his/her virtues and defects, will make us realize all the value he/she has. Whether it is a family member, a loved one, a friend, each person deserves a new opportunity to make amends for a mistake and heal the heart.
"Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses." Acts 13:38-39
Like water cleansing the earth, nourishing every part and making room for life, forgiveness is the tool we have at our fingertips to demonstrate all the teachings of the Lord.
Just as Jesus forgave us and gave his eternal life to every son and daughter, we have the possibility to experience that feeling when we give a new opportunity to those who offend us and those we really want to keep close to our hearts.
"And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth." 2 Timothy 2:24-25
We all make mistakes in life. The only being of light and perfection is God and He guides us from on high so that we can connect with the Holy Spirit.
Having clarity on this premise, we should be able to give opportunities to all people who approach us with respect and love, seeking redemption. Just as when our hearts seek that refuge of love in the Heavenly Father, we must recognize when we are wrong and need to receive that mantle of universal healing provided by Faith.
"You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God." 2 Corinthians 9:11
We have a mission in our life and it can be walked with much love and inner peace. If we truly yearn to build lasting foundations with our close environment, our family members, loved ones, friends and friends, we must put aside the past and the offenses received, forgiving and extending our most sincere forgiveness.
In prayer we can thank God for all the opportunities He gives us to heal and learn from His glory. It is never too late to say sorry or to open our hearts.
