Challenging the thoughts of the past in order to let go of that weight that overwhelms us. In the following article you will be presented with an opportunity now that you can take advantage of to feel better.
"Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause. He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness." Micah 7:8-9
From our early years we surely have some memories about trips, places, scenery, games, friends, girlfriends, cousins, distant relatives. Those vivid memories about reunions with beloved people in the park, with bicycles exploring areas unknown to anyone. The preparations for those outings began the night before, when we would take care of packing everything we would need the next day. The adventure was waiting for us!
And the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, saying, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased" Luke 3:22
We can also remember some situations lived, at some point in our childhood, where not knowing what to do or how to react to an event or scenario, we were completely afraid.
Surely we had both good and bad experiences along the way.
For some reason, sometimes we remain anchored in negative thoughts, thinking about that bad moment lived when we were young.
Being memories of an advanced age, the thoughts are diffuse and many times anguish can be the feeling that we experience immediately when we try to remember.
Faced with a situation never experienced before, the unknown. The exploration of our emotions and thoughts in new places.
Every step, every decision made is due to the path we are traveling with the Heavenly Father. We must never forget that surely everything that comes our way in life is to learn, to improve ourselves and to feel that we are living on a path of light.
"The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?” Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them." John 12:34-36
In those moments where we have a prolonged absence of light, we will encounter some thoughts that are associated with oppressive darkness. As much as we need in our lives to keep the path illuminated to make peace and joy constant in our hearts, let us remember that we have a fundamental ally. We have tools at our disposal to help us overcome this test.
We live in a world darkened by evil, by a struggle between good and evil, between right and wrong, between justice and injustice, which needs more and more each day to find that light that will allow it to restore its nature as a true creation of God.
" The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe." John 1:5-7
God's word is true and wise, it leaves no room for doubt that our way must be His way because in Him, not only do we have the light of salvation, but the only one who can show us how to find the brightness in the midst of the spiritual darkness that has gained ground in this world.
Therefore, it is our duty to take that light and make it shine, and then take it to all corners, to all those who have not yet been blessed by its white glow. Let us give ourselves to God today and let him illuminate our paths and our hearts.
